In Salzburg, a variety of wonderful sights, interesting events and superb destinations await you – and with them, numerous unforgettable holiday moments.
Salzburg in winter
Salzburg has the perfect holiday programme for everyone. Anyone who has ever been to Salzburg knows how diverse and exciting the city is, and first-time visitors can look forward to one of Europe’s most beautiful cities. At least in our opinion. From museums to city markets and small cinemas in the middle of the old town, Salzburg has a lot to offer. Especially in the winter during Advent season, there is a special atmosphere about the city. Spend the pre-Christmas period in Salzburg and buy your Christmas gifts in the famous Getreidegasse. While strolling through the renowned Salzburg Christmas market, a hot mug of punch also won’t go amiss. Then, back at Hotel Melanie, the toasty wellness area will already be waiting for you. Doesn’t that sound marvellous?
Salzburg, summer, sun, sunshine
In summer, the city of Salzburg will impress you with its attractions and an extensive leisure programme. When taking a walk through the Mirabell Gardens with a view of the Hohensalzburg Fortress, you can enjoy the city’s urban flair. And if your athletic ambitions get the better of you, then you can hire a bike here at the hotel and discover the city on two wheels. From the hotel, ride along the Salzach river, through the crooked streets of the old city and right up to the magnificent buildings such as the Salzburg Cathedral. When you have arrived in the city centre, a short break will be well-deserved.
Salzburg sightseeing – what you need to see
The medieval Hohensalzburg Fortress towers above the city’s church steeples and domes, framed by the majestic mountain peaks. The baroque old town forms a fascinating work of art with its churches, squares, buildings, fountains and archways. It is little wonder that UNESCO declared the historical old town centre of Salzburg a World Heritage Site. Right in the middle, you will also find the famous Getreidegasse with house number 9, Mozart’s birthplace. You will recognise it by its bold yellow colour – and by the large cluster of people who are normally gathered there.
After a long walk, the numerous traditional coffee houses and modern coffee shops are perfect for relaxing. Come and see us at the reception – we will be happy to share our favourite coffee houses and restaurants with you.
Do you want to experience the young yet traditional Salzburg up close? On request, we will put together an individual offer for your next holiday. We are already looking forward to hearing from you!
